In the second century after their inauguration, anthroposophy and anthroposophical initiatives find themselves in a changed world. What they can contribute to the challenges of this world has become more relevant and accessible. At the same time the need for context-sensitive practices and the longing for personalised learning paths and authentic learning experiences call for new ways in anthroposophic adult education.

What knowledge and capabilities do the next generation of carriers and co-workers in anthroposophic institutions bring with them and which essential knowledge would allow them to guide their institutions into the future? Relating this knowledge and capabilities to the field of tension between established anthroposophic practices, current academic research findings and the ideas, exercises and practices suggested by Rudolf Steiner is a challenging and rewarding work. This work is situated in today’s discourses such as digital change, state accreditation, the heritage of colonialism, interreligious discourse, gender mainstreaming – to name only a few.

All of this calls for an exchange and professional development of adult educators in anthroposophical professional trainings and professional development programs. With the Goetheanum Adult Education Programme (GAEP) we invite you to share your experience and knowledge with colleagues from around the world, to learn from other professional adult educators in practical exercises and to lay the foundations of a network to foster the development of Anthroposophy and anthroposophical initiatives in their second century.

We warmly welcome you at the Goetheanum

... create a network and a platform for adult educators in anthroposophical professional training and professional development: • share, reflect and give feedback on practical examples of teaching settings (such as presentations, seminars and exercises)
• face contemporary challenges in teaching anthroposophy today
• present best practice examples, paradigms and new findings in methods and theory of adult education

• further collegial exchange and collaboration

... experienced trainers, educators and instructors in Anthroposophic Professional
and Vocational Programs such as Anthroposophic Medicine, Steiner/Waldorf
Education, Biodynamic Training Courses, Art Schools etc. that are looking for exchange, sharing of best practices and professional development in teaching and mediating anthroposophy in contemporary ways.

... your contributions out of your own questions and expertise build the heart of the program. We would therefore like to invite you to share your core questions in anthroposophic adult education and your interests, experiences and current challenges in teaching the themes of Development and Karma: what are successful practices or methods and what obstacles do you meet? According to the aspects you shared – which we will ask you to hand in as step two of the application process – we will form the colloquium in the afternoons.

All participants are invited to bring longer or shorter contributions to the colloquium. Depending on the amount and lengths of the contributions we might also organise parallel sessions with a thematic focus.
